Booking and Reservations

To book a car on Praslin with 4Drive, you can use our online booking widget on the homepage, send us an email with your travel dates and vehicle preference, or call us during business hours. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season (December to January and July to August), as Praslin is a small island and availability can be limited. Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you a voucher with pickup instructions and our contact details.

Pickup and Drop-off Locations

We offer pickup and drop-off at Praslin Island Airport (PRI), which is the most popular option for visitors arriving by air from Mahe. We also deliver cars to hotels and guesthouses across Praslin, including Cote d'Or, Grand Anse, Anse Volbert, and Baie Sainte Anne. If you are arriving by ferry from Mahe or returning from La Digue, we can meet you at the Baie Sainte Anne jetty. Just let us know your arrival time and location when you contact us.

Payment Methods

4Drive Praslin accepts payment by debit card (VISA or Mastercard), credit card, or cash in Euros, US Dollars, or Seychellois Rupees. The key difference with our service is that we do not require a deposit or a credit card hold. You pay the rental fee when you collect the car. This makes the process simpler and avoids the large holds that other companies place on your card. If paying by cash, please confirm the amount in advance as exchange rates can vary.

Documents and Requirements

To rent a car on Praslin, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving licence from your home country. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended but not strictly required for most nationalities. You will also need your passport for identification. When you contact us to book, please mention your nationality so we can confirm that your licence is accepted in Seychelles.

Insurance and Coverage

All 4Drive Praslin rentals include full insurance with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP). There is no excess to pay in the event of damage, which gives you peace of mind while exploring the island. Our insurance covers damage to the vehicle, third-party liability, and theft. It does not cover personal belongings left in the car, so please take valuables with you when you visit beaches or Vallee de Mai. Driving on Praslin

Praslin drives on the left side of the road, the same as the United Kingdom, India, and Australia. If you are used to driving on the right, take extra care at junctions and roundabouts. The island has one main coastal road that loops around the perimeter, plus a cross-island road that goes over the hill to Anse Lazio and Vallee de Mai. Speed limits are 40 km/h in villages and up to 65 km/h on open sections. The roads can be narrow and winding, especially on the hill sections, so drive slowly and watch for oncoming traffic. Parking is generally easy - most beaches and attractions have small car parks, and your hotel will have designated spaces.

Getting to Popular Attractions

With your rental car, you can easily reach all of Praslin's top sights. Anse Lazio is on the north-west coast, about 15 minutes from Cote d'Or via the cross-island road. The road is steep but well-maintained. Vallee de Mai, the UNESCO World Heritage palm forest, is accessed from the same road. Grand Anse on the south coast is a long, open beach popular for kitesurfing, about 20 minutes from Cote d'Or. Baie Sainte Anne, the main village and ferry port, is on the east coast. From there you can take a 15-minute ferry to La Digue. Cars are not usually taken on the La Digue ferry (the island uses bicycles), so you can park at the jetty and explore La Digue on foot or by bike. Child Seats and Extras

We can provide child seats (infant seats, toddler seats, or booster seats) for an additional fee. Please request these when you book, as we have limited stock. Let us know the age and weight of your child so we can provide the correct seat. Other extras such as GPS devices are not commonly needed on Praslin, as the island is small and easy to navigate. Most rental cars have air conditioning, which is essential in the tropical heat. If you have specific requirements (such as an automatic transmission or a larger vehicle for a family), mention this when you contact us so we can check availability.

Changes and Cancellations

4Drive Praslin offers free cancellation up to 48 hours before your pickup time. If you need to change your dates, pickup location, or vehicle type, contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you. During peak season, availability can be tight, so early notice is appreciated. If you cancel within 48 hours of pickup or do not show up (no-show), a cancellation fee may apply. Our team will explain the terms when you book.

If you have a breakdown, accident, or any issue during your rental, call our 24/7 emergency line at +248 252 1234. We will arrange assistance or a replacement vehicle if needed. Because Praslin is a small island, help is never far away. All our cars are regularly serviced and inspected, but if something does go wrong, we will sort it out quickly.
